351. Theme 257 ~Regal~

I think this stately old water tower in Weehawken, NJ, has a regal look to it.  Here’s some info:

The Weehawken Water Tower was built in 1883 as part of the Hackensack Water Company Complex, and inspired by Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy. The Tower is cited on the Federal Maritime Chart as the “Red Tower”, and serves as warning to ships traveling south along the Hudson River that they are approaching New York Bay.  The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

If anyone remembers, one of my earlier posts was also from Weehawken….the Alexander Hamilton & Aaron Burr duel.  The page is HERE.

  1. Nice looking water tower. Another 365’er from MN has shot some nice towers as well. I’ve never seen any like that around here.

  2. The angle you shot this at really gives it an overpowering look, great composition on this!

  3. They really knew how to build with class way back then, didn’t they!
