271. Theme 114 ~Fruits of the Season~

This is fruit from a KOUSA DOGWOOD tree.  This is the first year I’ve seen it bear fruit, we planted it about 3 years ago.  The fruit is traditionally harvested in September and October……I have NO idea what it tastes like!

  1. We have several of these trees. The fruit is very sweet with many seeds inside the casing. It tastes somewhat like cantaloupe.

    • I’ve never gotten to taste one…..the wildlife (at least I hope that’s what it is) beats me too it! 🙂

  3. What’s the name of this fruit?

    • It’s the fruit from the Kusa dogwood tree. I don’t know if it has another name.

  7. Lovely shot- they are pretty bland for how cool looking they are. You must have been very nice to your tree, that’s a lot of fruit. Great plant choice!
